JVC KENWOOD Corporation (JVC KENWOOD) announces the current status of damages to its Thai subsidiaries caused by floods following heavy rains in central Thailand since July.

1. Status of damages

In Thailand, JVC KENWOOD operates two production subsidiaries and two sales subsidiaries, where there has been no report of employee injury so far.

At JVC Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary in Navanakorn Industrial Estate which manufactures professional equipment, many employees had been unable to commute to work since October 12 because of the flooding. To cope with this, the subsidiary suspended part of its production line, moved some facilities from the first floor to the second floor due to concerns about flooding, and piled up sandbags. However, at 11:00 a.m. on October 17 when it was recommended that the industrial park be evacuated, the subsidiary stopped operations and had all the employees evacuate immediately. No damage to the facilities had been confirmed at the time of evacuation.

In addition to the above, the flooding has left some business partners unable to supply us with components. In response, we are working out replacement measures such as the purchase of substitute parts.

2. Future measures and the effects of the disaster on earnings results

JVC KENWOOD will do its utmost to keep abreast of the situation, as well as consider and implement measures for early restoration while following the instructions of the Thai government.

In the event that we find that the disaster will have significant effects on our consolidated earnings, we will immediately inform you of the matter.
