JVC KENWOOD Corporation (JVC KENWOOD) is pleased to announce that its production subsidiary, JVC Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (JMT) resumed some operations on January 28, 2012. It had suspended production due to the effects of the floods in Thailand.

JMT, located in Navanakorn Industrial Estate, produces professional equipment such as surveillance cameras and monitors used in over 30 countries around the world. It had suspended its operations on October 17, 2011 after the Estate received an evacuation recommendation (which subsequently became an evacuation order).

While recovery efforts are still underway on the submerged first floor of the plant, JMT had been preparing to resume operations on the second floor which escaped the flooding. Its aim was to accommodate the needs of customers as quickly as possible, considering that the products manufactured are related to public safety, security and crime prevention. Efforts to restart processes for procuring materials, production and shipment were completed. And on January 28, 2012, JMT resumed production of professional cameras such as surveillance systems, professional recorders and other products.

JMT employees were received at the Yokosuka Business Center, the alternative production site that began full-scale operations on December 5, 2011. There, JVC KENWOOD expanded the production lines while securing product quality, and has been working to further enhance production efficiency.

With alternative production conducted at the Yokosuka Business Center and partial production resumed at JMT, the JVC KENWOOD Group will do its utmost to make up for the delay in production and shipments caused by the temporary suspension of operations since last October.

All employees of the JVC KENWOOD Group sincerely hope that the affected areas will be restored as soon as possible.
