Information on the JVCKENWOOD Booth at IWCE 2016
Offering total wireless communications systems that leverage the JVCKENWOOD Group's
technological collaboration and synergy

JVC KENWOOD Corporation will exhibit at the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) 2016, to be held on March 23 and 24 in Las Vegas, NV, USA. IWCE is the world’s largest exhibition and business opportunity event for professional wireless communication equipment/systems.
This year, JVCKENWOOD will offer total solution of wireless communications system developed through the integration of KENWOOD’s professional two-way radios and Project 25 (P25) digital radio systems of EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. (“EFJT”), the JVCKENWOOD Group’s major subsidiary in the communications system business in North America.
The JVCKENWOOD booth will also highlight a new network solution for our main product line, NEXEDGE® professional digital radio systems and a variety of total solutions for professional wireless communications systems for markets ranging from public safety to public services, business and industry.

*1: P25 protocol: P25 is a suite of professional digital radio standards designed mainly for the U.S. public safety market, including police and fire departments.

JVCKENWOOD's approach to the professional wireless communications business

In the field of professional wireless communications, the shift to digital technologies has been gaining momentum in recent years. KENWOOD products have been at the forefront of this trend, offering various types of two way radios for business entities ranging from public services & utilities, local government agencies and transportation companies to a wide range of private enterprises. In North America, most importantly, JVCKENWOOD has launched its lineup of NEXEDGE® and digital radio systems that are compliant with Project 25 (P25) protocol*1, and sales have been growing steadily.
JVCKENWOOD will promote collaboration between KENWOOD’s professional wireless systems and EFJT’s professional digital radio systems compatible with P25 protocol*1. The aim is to increase JVCKENWOOD’s presence in the public safety field in which EFJT has a strength, and further expand business in total system solutions. Furthermore, JVCKENWOOD will offer solutions through collaboration with the dispatch systems*2 of Zetron, another Group company. In this way, JVCKENWOOD will satisfy various customer needs through its total system solutions, enabled by integrating technologies owned by the JVCKENWOOD Group companies.

*2: dispatch system: System console that controls radios, which are indispensable for large-scale systems.

JVCKENWOOD’s IWCE 2016 booth will highlight wide-ranging total power of professional communications system for next-generation technologies that leverage the Group’s technology collaboration and synergy, and showcase JVCKENWOOD’s comprehensive capabilities as a provider of wireless system solutions. Specifically, JVCKENWOOD will introduce P25*1-compliant total professional digital radio systems, a new network solution for the lineup of NEXEDGE® professional digital radio systems and DMR digital radio systems which JVCKENWOOD began to globally launch this year.

1. Introducing new solutions that combine EFJT's digital radio base station with KENWOOD's professional wireless systems

The booth will exhibit new solutions that realize high reliability for the public safety market, including police and fire departments, enabled by combining EJFT's P25*1-compliant digital radio base station with KENWOOD's robust professional wireless systems.

2. Introducing NEXEDGE Generation2 (Gen2) System network solutions

The NEXEDGE® networking system that adopts NXDN protocol*3, known for its reliable basic performance and scalability, has made significant progress. Among the exhibits will be the NEXEDGE Generation2 (Gen2) System that enables more than 1,000 sites to be connected.

*3: NXDN is a communication protocol for professional digital radio systems for private enterprises.

3. Introducing car-mounted radio systems compatible with Multi Remote Control Heads x Multi RF Deck

The booth will exhibit car-mounted radio systems compatible with Multi Remote Control Heads x Multi RF Deck, which enables system configurations that meet the diverse needs of users.

4. Introducing digital radio systems and repeaters compatible with DMR Tier II

The booth will have an exhibit of DMR-compliant digital radio systems and repeaters, which JVCKENWOOD released in Europe ahead and launched globally mainly for private enterprises starting this year. JVCKENWOOD will roll out DMR-compatible products around the world, in addition to our existing products compatible with the NXDNTM*³ protocol and P25 protocol*1 , and respond to various customer needs.
