JVCKENWOOD Corporation and its subsidiary EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. (EFJT) are providing the following assistance to support relief activities for victims who sustained serious damage from three major hurricanes (Harvey, Irma, and Maria), which made landfall in North America and Caribbean nations from August to September, and a major earthquake in September, which struck Mexico, as well as recovery and restoration efforts in areas impacted by the disasters.

The disaster-affected areas had transportation and communication infrastructure destroyed by the hurricanes and the major earthquake. Given these circumstances, JVCKENWOOD and EFJT have decided to donate digital radio systems that enable communication without the need for public infrastructure to assist victims and reconstruction efforts in the areas affected.

JVCKENWOOD and EFJT’s local agents have contacted local governments, police departments, fire departments, and emergency medical centers in the U.S. (the states of Florida, Texas, Georgia, and South Carolina), Puerto Rico, and Mexico, which sustained particularly severe damage, to check the situation. Digital radio systems are expected to be delivered sequentially following arrangements made with the local authorities from late September.
