Sustainable Procurement Society

The JVCKENWOOD Group recognizes that constructing a sustained supply chain is key for realizing not only company growth but also a sustainable society, and aims to pursue this idea globally.

JVCKENWOOD Group Procurement Policy

The JVCKENWOOD Group established the JVCKENWOOD Group Procurement Policy in October 2018 in pursuit of sustainable procurement via its comprehensive supply chain including suppliers. This Policy goes beyond merely complying with laws and regulations to broadly improve understanding of sustainable procurement and efforts in that regard in hopes of helping to develop a sustainable society. Henceforth, we will be familiarizing suppliers with this Policy and ask their understanding of, and cooperation with, this Policy as well as the JVCKENWOOD CSR Procurement Guidelines.

JVCKENWOOD CSR Procurement Guidelines

The JVCKENWOOD Group established the JVCKENWOOD CSR Procurement Guidelines in compliance with the code of conduct set out by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), and we began applying these Guidelines in 2017 to meet the sustainability-related expectations and requirements by a variety of stakeholders (customers, business partners, shareholders/investors, employees, governmental bodies/local communities, etc.).

The CSR Procurement Guidelines comprise seven categories: (1) human rights and labor, (2) occupational safety and health, (3) environment, (4) fair trade and ethics, (5) product quality and safety, (6) information security and (7) social contributions. The JVCKENWOOD Group’s supply chain is expected to comply with these seven categories, which serve as the policies for pursuing sustainable procurement across the entire Group. We are also asking our suppliers to understand and cooperate with the CSR Procurement Guidelines, and we plan to familiarize them with the Guidelines in supplier meetings.

While gaining supplier understanding on the importance of sustainability procurement, our Group will be urging all suppliers to properly administer the Guidelines, including conducting studies of industry trends.

Prohibiting child/forced labor

The JVCKENWOOD Group embraces the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, insisting on respect for basic human rights all through its supply chains.
The JVCKENWOOD CSR Procurement Guidelines clearly prohibit child labor and forced labor, and we will be familiarizing all suppliers with the Guidelines to ensure they are suitably incorporated into their business practices.
