K2 Technology is an information processing technology that enhances sound quality of digital sound sources, jointly developed by JVCKENWOOD and VICTOR STUDIO.

While various technologies have been developed over time, K2 Technology is based on a consistent philosophy of “the original sound without any changes” and “restoring sound to its original state.” Its goal is to faithfully reproduce the allure of the original master sound, which reflects the artist’s intent and attention to detail. This technology is widely applied in audio equipment, mastering processes, and music contents production.

K2 Technology incorporates many proprietary innovations, especially it has two distinctive features that set it apart from other similar technologies.

• Time-Domain Signal Processing

K2 Technology does not use the frequency domain, which many similar technologies employ to recreate lost information during digitalization from frequency data segmented by time, but it is based on signal processing in the time domain. This is an unprecedented original technology that analyzes wave information that changes over time by dividing it at each waveform's peak, thereby restoring deteriorated or lost musical information.

• Integration of Hardware Engineering & Studio Expertise

"K2HD Processing" is a flagship technology of "K2". It restores digital audio that has been degraded by compression or format conversion, achieves a quality equivalent to the original CD or master.

Its main characteristic is the natural restoration of high frequencies via simple time-domain waveform processing, avoiding the artificial addition of harmonics. The technology can restore high-frequency components up to 100kHz, making it essential for producing high-resolution audio from CD masters and enhancing the quality of streaming music.
