Groups from a wide range of fields are expected to exhibit at Eco-Products 2012, including companies that handle consumer goods, industrial materials and energy, local governments, universities, research institutions, NPOs and NGOs. Eco-Products 2012, one of the largest exhibitions in Japan, is used as a place to educate people about the environment. The exhibition can be enjoyed by parents, children and other family members alike, and it attracted as many as 180,000 people last year.

JVCKENWOOD will exhibit at Eco-Products 2012 under the theme of “Feeling the Earth,” producing a space where visitors can become aware of the earth quite naturally while feeling a connection with it, through sounds, images and designs that appeal to visitors’ sensitivities.

At the JVCKENWOOD booth, we plan to hold lectures by inviting two lecturers. One is Mr. Shinichi Takemura, Professor of Kyoto University of Art and Design and Director of the NPO Earth Literacy Program. He has produced a next-generation digital globe called “Tangible Earth” to be exhibited at the booth and produce effects. The other is Mr. Tadashi Inamoto, President of Oak Village Co., Ltd., the company that cooperates with JVCKENWOOD in the speaker system “Forest Notes”.

Taking advantage of the exhibition at Eco-Products 2012 and other events, JVCKENWOOD will develop products and services that provide customers with [excitement and peace of mind], the creating of which was adopted as our corporate vision. It will also make efforts to realize a society that coexists with the global environment.

Details of JVCKENWOOD Booth (Booth No. 4-012)

1. Next-generation Digital Globe “Tangible Earth” (Reference exhibit)

A medium-size, low-end prototype of “Tangible Earth” will be exhibited. This product is a next-generation digital globe produced by Mr. Shinichi Takemura, Professor of Kyoto University of Art and Design and Director of the NPO [Earth Literacy Program]. We will provide as many visitors as possible with experience of “feeling (the live) earth” through clear images created with JVCKENWOOD’s projector technology.

2. Speaker System “Forest Notes” (Reference exhibit)

A prototype of a unique speaker without a diaphragm will be exhibited. It is made from wood carefully grown in the forest of Japan and is finished like a beautiful piece of artwork by Japanese craftsmen. The speaker will be introduced along with a service which enables visitors to enjoy the sounds of the forests that are picked up through microphones installed in Hida Takayama and other places.

3. Space Sound Design Solution “KooNe”

Visitors can enjoy a sound space that uses a high-resolution sound source produced by the Space Sound Design Solution “KooNe.” This sound source was developed by the Entertainment Laboratory that specializes in the B-to-B business of Victor Entertainment, Inc., a software entertainment company of the JVCKENWOOD Group. The “KooNe” is a system that relaxes listeners with “quality sound and a sound field,” created using a high-resolution sound source system “Nature Sound Mist” (that produces natural sounds of forests, rivers and the sea) and the space sound design (patent applied for). In the exhibition, this environment will be combined with beautiful images from a projector, producing a comfortable space.
